Aklea Neon is a performing artist and a singer-songwriter with a Masters in Cultural studies. Born and rooted in Croatia, but in essence feeling as an earthling. Unique in the spheres of world music, Aklea channels melodies with a downtempo signature in a solo performance or with her all-girl bend Sound Doulas.
Thus far, her art was acknowledged with three awards: Performer of the year (Ambasador 2020), a Singer-songwriter of the year (Zlatko Turkalj 2020) and a Creator of the best fusion music-video Muzzik.tv 2022) and her debut album Dođi na joji was a Porin nominee in the category of the Best electronic album of 2022.
Inspired by her travels, she is developing multimedia concepts with the goal of raising eco- consciousness and preservation of nature. Her notable eco anthem Zovi ju mama and a humanitarian projects Smirilica are music results of these thought-seeds. In 2024 her most recent immersive soundscape experience Freqs of nature was born. This concept consists of intimate interspecies concerts in which the musician co-creates sounds, textures, rhythms and melodies with plants. With 15+ fully booked experiences under her belt, Akela’s aim is to to remind the listener to slow down with micro lense turned towards nature.
